Travelin’ Man pulls back the curtain on Bob Seger’s rise to rock legend status. Through the eyes of Tom Weschler, his steadfast road manager and photographer. Caught between fierce loyalty and a quiet yearning to be acknowledged, Tom’s rare insider accounts reveal the grit, brotherhood, and unseen sacrifices behind the music. For years, his devotion and grit helped shape Seger’s path, but his journey asks a haunting question: What becomes of the ones who give everything to the spotlight, yet never share in it?

How it started: When Producer Alex Greene first met Tom Weschler, he found himself standing in Tom’s living room, facing the man who had lived rock and roll history. Tom, seated on the couch, listened as Alex confidently stated, “I’d like to make a film about Bob Seger.” Without missing a beat, Tom smirked and replied, “Yeah, you and half of Hollywood.”

But Alex wasn’t just another dreamer. He leaned in, eyes locked on Tom, and asked, “You know the difference between me and Hollywood, don’t you?” Tom raised an eyebrow. “No.” Alex’s voice sharpened with conviction. “I’m standing in your fucking living room.”

In that moment, the skepticism faded. Tom saw the fire in Alex’s eyes—the determination to tell this story the right way. That was the beginning of Travelin’ Man, a documentary born from passion, persistence, and the undeniable power of showing up.

Bringing Travelin’ Man to Life: A Rock & Roll Legacy in the Making

For months, Andrea Houle, Co-Producer and partner of Travelin’ Man, LLC, sat down with Tom Weschler—week after week—uncovering the untold stories behind the book Travelin’ Man. These weren’t just memories; they were raw, behind-the-scenes moments of Bob Seger’s rise, the kind that never made it to print.

After two years of meticulous research, Andrea, Alex and Tom embarked on crafting a screenplay—a true-to-life, Travelin Man insider’s account of the grit, grind, and glory of rock ‘n’ roll.

Then came a pivotal moment. In December 2023, Andrea and Alex approached the Detroit Historical Museum with a bold idea: a Bob Seger exhibit, featuring Tom’s legendary photographs. The museum not only agreed—they expanded the exhibition from six months to a full year, debuting on Bob Seger Day, March 15, 2024 and closing out on March 15th, 2025. This wasn’t just an exhibit—it was a celebration of history, music, and the images that defined a generation.

Now, it’s time for the next chapter: bringing Tom’s story to the screen.
